Variable rate loans are popular when the prime rate (the amount the U.S. government charges lending institutions to borrow money) is low.
FHA LOANS
FHA (Federal Housing Administration) are government insured loans that are a preferable option for borrowers who have less than 20% for their down payment, and who may not have the best credit score.

If you already own a home, refinancing is something to consider when current interest rates are lower than the rate of your current mortgage. For people 62 or older, getting a reverse mortgage on your home can be a way to provide additional income.

Brian McGill is a licensed mortgage loan originator with a strong background in finance, planning, and teaching. As a detail-oriented, creative thinker, Brian works to provide innovative solutions to clients’ specific needs. He is passionate about helping people navigate the mortgage industry and making information easy to understand.
Prior to joining Capstone Direct, Brian worked at Northrop Grumman as a Financial Analyst for their Aerospace Division. He received his BA in Business Economics from The University of Arizona. When he’s not helping people with their mortgages, he’s spending time with his wife, mcKensey, and their Australian Labradoodle, Hattie. You may also spot him in the bike lanes around San Diego training for triathlons or in the kitchen whippin’ up a mean meal.
